Lance Boland
Chief Firearms Instructor

Lance is a NRA Training Counselor based in Orange County. His background in firearms started in his childhood where he learned the handling of rifles, pistols, and shotguns from his father, who was also an NRA Instructor. Lance spent his childhood hunting large game in the mountains of Idaho, and inland game in Southern Illinois. 

Continuing his family's legacy, he followed in the footsteps of his father by joining the Marine Corp where he served in the Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion and with Weapons Co, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.

Upon completing his tour in the Marine Corp he carried on his passion for firearms into civilian life as a family man and has adapted quickly to bring his passion for training into the civilian world. Lance brings a mentoring approach to firearms instructions that has been adapted for students of all ages, background and experience levels.

Trent Butler
Senior Firearms Instructor

Trent has been conducting private and classroom instruction for over 7 years. He has been shooting various disciplines from long range precision rifle to IDPA for over 10 years. He joined F.A.S.T. O.C. in November 2014 and serves as Senior Firearms Instructor and Reloading Instructor. 

Trent has a passion for reloading and defensive marksmanship, but enjoys instructing the range of NRA and F.A.S.T. O.C. courses. He has taught students ranging from federal agents and Marines to first time shooters, and uses his experience to help them meet their individual goals. His favorite quote that always gets a rise out of students is, “Accuracy is a Choice.” His F.A.S.T. O.C. call sign is Captain America.
