Lance Boland
Chief Firearms Instructor

Lance is a NRA Training Counselor based in Orange County. His background in firearms started in his childhood where he learned the handling of rifles, pistols, and shotguns from his father, who was also an NRA Instructor. Lance spent his childhood hunting large game in the mountains of Idaho, and inland game in Southern Illinois. 

Continuing his family's legacy, he followed in the footsteps of his father by joining the Marine Corps where he served in the Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion and with Weapons Co, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines.

Upon completing his tour in the Marine Corps he carried on his passion for firearms into civilian life as a family man and has adapted quickly to bring his passion for training into the civilian world. Lance brings a mentoring approach to firearms instructions that has been adapted for students of all ages, background and experience levels.

Chris Moore
Senior Firearms Instructor

Chris is an NRA Firearms Instructor based in Orange County.  Chris has a dynamic firearms background going back to his childhood where his father introduced him to rifles, pistols, and shotguns.  Chris spent his weekends at local Orange County ranges with his father and quickly learned the fundamentals of marksmanship and a respect for safety and firearms.  

 After being inspired by his grandfather, Chris enlisted in the Navy after high school. He served on the U.S.S. Fort McHenry during Gulf War I as a small boat engineer, engineman 3rd Class.  After completing his tour, Chris continued to sharpen his skills as a marksman and gun smith.  Chris was motivated to join the Army Reserves after witnessing the tragedy of 9-11.  He took his second oath on September 20, 2001 to join the Army Reserves. Chris was assigned to the 320th PSYOP Company out of Portland, Oregon and trained as a 37 Foxtrot PSYOP Specialist. After two years with the 320th, Chris was transferred to Irvine and joined the 314th Military Police Company.  Chris trained as a 31 Bravo for the last two years of his Reserve commitment. 

 In 2006, Chris joined the Laguna Beach Police Department. He graduated from the Academy as Top Shot and served as a Squad Leader.  In 2007, Chris decided to change careers due to family commitments.  He became a certified firearms instructor in 2009 and started teaching private rifle and pistol classes.  He developed a passion for working in this field. Chris brings decades of knowledge into the classroom and range.  His diverse background has helped shape him into a confident and well-rounded instructor.  In his free time, Chris enjoys family adventures on the Colorado River, off-roading, and cycling.
