The FAST OCSD CCW Renewal course may be scheduled to fit your individual needs during the week or evenings based on our availability. Contact Trent Butler at trent@fastoc.com.
The FAST OCSD-Approved Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) License Renewal course is 4 hours, with additional time for range qualifications. This is the required refresher course you must take as part of the OCSD CCW License renewal process, OCSD Policy 218. The course must be taken during the renewal process prior to OCSD renewing your license. In accordance with OCSD requirements, our course covers the legal aspects of CCW, the terms of your license, and requalification with the weapons listed on your license (along with any firearm changes you wish to make).
In addition, we briefly cover situational awareness, controlling and avoiding confrontations, opportunities to continue your training, the physical and psychological realities of a self-defense engagement, and the legal and social fallout from a shooting. You do not need to have taken your original CCW training with us.
- The range fee is included in the course fee.
- You will need the 1-5 firearms on your license, 75 rounds for each firearm, eye and ear protection.
- Please leave all your ammo in your vehicle.
- You will be provided with a certificate of training for OCSD at the end of the course.
The classroom portion of the course is located at:
FAST OC 1401 North Batavia Street, Suite 107, Orange, CA 92867
Upon entering FAST OC we will check and clear your weapons so we may perform some dry fire holster drills prior to the range qualifications.
After the classroom portion of the course is complete we will do the OCSD required weapons qualifications at Evans Shooters World, 1637 N Brian St, Orange, CA 92867 less than ½ mile north of the FAST OC classroom.
If you are thinking of changing weapons on your license this is the time to do it. All you need to do is qualify with the new weapon, complete a DOJ License Amendment form, and email the FAST OC CCW Renewal Training certificate and DOJ form to OCSD. The link to the DOJ form is on the OCSD CCW website.
