The FAST OC Basic Shotgun Course is intended for the following persons:
· Persons who have limited to no experience with shotguns
· Persons who are looking to have a remedial review of shotgun safety, shotgun operation, and marksmanship
· Persons who have been ordered by a court of law to attend a firearms safety course
· Persons who have taken a shorter orientation course but are looking for a more comprehensive understanding of shotguns
This course is an 8-hour course (8AM – 5PM with a 1-hour lunch break) and is broken down into a 6-hour academic section with 2 hours of range time.
The following topics are covered during this course:
· Shotgun Safety / Safety Rules
· Shotgun Nomenclature
· Ammunition Function / Types
· Marksmanship
· Legal aspects of handgun ownership / transportation / use
· Cleaning / Maintenance
Students are encouraged to bring with them their own shotgun and ammunition. If you do not currently own a shotgun, that is not an issue. Please e-mail us at info@fastoc.com so that we can make accommodations for the shotgun and ammo.
Students are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks to suit their needs, but FAST OC does offer coffee, waters and snacks at our facility.
For students who have already purchased a firearm, we can provide instruction on the operation of your shotgun as well as instruction and coaching on your firearm during the range time. Students are encouraged to bring their own ammunition for their firearm as an alternative as our ammunition may not always cycle newer guns.
